Dunclug Partnership held another successful “Give Dunclug A Hug” Funday on Saturday 25th August.

Gillian Forrest, Community Development Officer from Supporting Communities, reported, “It was an amazing event with a great turnout from the Dunclug Community. I would like to say a big thank you to the group for their ongoing commitment and their personal investment as volunteers. It is the great work of volunteers all over the country that make this a better and safer place to live.”

The group also used the event to present the awards for the Best Kept Garden competition which had been judged the previous week.

Pat McQuillan, Treasurer of the Dunclug Partnership said, “This is the second year we have hosted both the  Community Funday and the Best Kept Garden Competition, with judges for the competition consisting of the winners from last year. Both events have stirred up a great deal of positivity within the community,  creating a sense of pride and the beautiful gardens and blooming flowers bring a real sense of wellbeing to the people that live here.”

Pat finished by saying, “I would like to thank MEA Council who funded the fun day, and North Ballymena Cluster who sponsored the prizes for the Best Kept Garden Competition. Additional thanks goes to Supporting Communities, Tesco, Dunclug Primary School, The Ethnic Minority Forum, Housing Executive, Pathways, and Cllr Audrey Wales.”
